Contact information: here you find more information about your contact. The name, the address, the avatar, the status and the status message are displayed.

Conversation area: all the messages from you and your contact are displayed here. The layout can differ, depending on the background you are using.

Toolbar: use this toolbar to insert emoticons and to pick a font (and a font color). You can also change the background of the chat area.

Edit area: use this editbox to typ the messages you want to send to your contact. If you have written a message and want to send it, press Enter or press the Send button.

Tabbar: all your conversations are grouped by means of this tabbar. This way, you can save a lot of valuable space on your screen. Click on the tabs to switch to another conversation. You can also use CTRL+Tab to swith between your conversations.
