What would an instant messaging program be without some sort of personalization? In Pandion you can use avatars and choose a status message, to adjust your Jabber account to your personal taste!
An avatar is a small picture that is displayed next to your name (or address). Avatars make it easy for other users to recognize you.
Setting up an avatar is very easy. Choose Actions and then Change my avatar... You now see a window with several pictures. You can choose an avatar from this list or you can use a custom image. Press the button Custom Image... to choose a self-made picture.

If you choose a custom image, make sure that the image is smaller than 8kb and saved as GIF, JPEG, BMP or PNG. |

Press OK to confirm your choice. Your avatar shows up at the top of your contact list.

Avatars currently don't work with transports. Therefore, your MSN-, ICQ- and Yahoo!-contacts won't see your avatar. |

You can insert personal data in your 'profile'. This profile (or vCard) is then saved on the server. Your profile can be viewed by somebody (if he/she wants more information about you for example).
Choose Actions and then Edit my Profile.... You'll now see your profile. You can edit all the fields.

It is advised to fill in the most important fields in your profile. If you do that, you'll make it easier for others to find you. The most important fields are: First Name, Last Name and Nickname. |

Use the tabs on the left to view the other fields.
A status expresses were your are and if you are able to answer incoming messages. Pandion supports the following statuses: available, away, busy and invisible.
You can also set a status message. This message explains what you are doing or how you are feeling at that moment. Some users put funny quotes in the status message. Status messages are displayed below the contact in the detailed view.
There is more than one way to change your status:
Click on the big blue bar at the top of your contact list. Then choose the desired status.
Choose File and My status. You can then choose the desired status.
You can also change your status if Pandion is minimized. Right-click on the Pandion-icon in the tasktray and choose your status.
You can change your status message in the same manner. Choose Change my status message... and type the message. Press OK to confirm.
There are already some preset status messages. Press the Preset Message... button to insert a preset status message.
